I had a think today about the coming spring and summer and what I would like to do. So I decided to put together a list of physical challenges all of which location wise are within easy access and offer a variety of activities. The list isn't cast in stone but hopfully will get me out and about doing things in 2007. It's also subject to review and addition and I am not forced to do any of them. Originally, I did have the London Marathon as a goal (I have done it twice before back in the late 90s) but unfortunately I didn't get in. Some of the challenges I can take my nephew along as he is really a kid who loves doing active stuff and only uses his play station when there's nothing else to do. Some of the challenges are specific whilst others are more general. Hopefully, these goals will also help me get fitter and keep the old bones in good shape.
I went for a run last night which lasted for 45 minutes, it's the best I've done since I fell down a hole in the pavement back in November I was unable to run for four weeks and then I got a severe cold which probably was a bit of flu. Since then I have found it difficult to keep going and stopped frequently so last night was a good step forward. Before my injury I was comfortably running in excess of 10 miles regularly.
One on the list I have already achieved, I took my 11 year old nephew to Awesome Walls over Christmas we both really enjoyed it. We did I taster course which involved learning the ropes (figure 8 notes, belaying etc) so we came out with some new skills. Its definitely something I'd do again.
So anyway here is my list which is in no particular order of importance or time.
