During my usual half hour walk today an odd thought came into my head.  If I were to be born again what would I want to be.  And alternatively, if I were to go back to being a child/young person what career path would I choose.

Well I thought, the first question would be quite straight forward, I would be a man.  Not for the sole reason of being a man as I'm quite content with being a woman.  It's based on the fact that if given the choice it would be great to be a footballer.  Again not purely because of the wealth but because I love football.  So if I could choose to be anything it would be that.

On the second question I would fancy doing some sort of trade.  Plumbing and drainage work would be out of the question as that's far to smelly and stomach churning.  Motor mechanics again wouldn't interest me, its far to messy having to work in dirty oilly conditions and besides a car has no purpose for me than to get me from A to B.  I wouldn't mind some sort of building work but not for those big construction firms.   Being able to build something that's really nice like an ornamental wall or carpentry and being able to make something yourself would be great.  I would be outdoors some of the time which would be great in summer but no so good in winter.

Alternatively, I could consider being a garden designer, being able to put together wonderful creations to provide special places for people.  I would have knowledge about all sorts of plants.  Again summer great, winter not so.  Another option would be as an interior designer and decorator being able to make people's home a sanctuary and/or a pleasant place to be working with colours and patterns and accessories. Another area of interest may be something to do with nature management and conversation.

Moving away from the outdoor theme I could quite see myself as a psychologist working with children and young people or adults, helping people deal with, overcome and move on with life's problems or mental health issues.

There is definitely one thing I wouldn't do and that's work in an office that I do day in day out and I wouldn't be keen on working for a big organisation having little or nor autonomy.
